Cozy outfits have been fun and all, but it’s time to get back to some fancier attire. And what better way to get back in the habit of dressing up, than with this vintage-inspired, fancy, frock?

I’m a goner for a dress with polka dots and one that is fit and flare…and has some sleeves, too! So, basically this dress was made for me. Plus, it fits like a glove, and I’m also happy with how it’s lined. Oh, and I don’t have to dry clean it…I can just throw it in the washer. Yep, it doesn’t get any better than that, folks!

I should probably tell you where this lovely dress is from, eh? This is another one from my Australian friend over at Lilac Cove Boutique. She has done a little restructuring with her site, and has created a Facebook page instead (Lilee Fashionyamanto). There, you can comment on the photo of the dress you want, and she’ll get back to you with the price, shipping, etc.

And it’s been a while since I had a chance to break out these white tights again. I really love how they accent certain dresses. But to be honest, I’ve been shying away from them…because every time I feature them it seems I get some creep who steals the photos and plasters them on some unsavory sites for, ah, fans of tights (to put it politely). I have since disabled the right-click feature on my site. (Sorry! If you want my photos, just ask. I’m quite nice and reasonable – I swear!) This has made me feel more confident about rocking the white tights! And a big thanks to all the support on my Instagram post from a couple weeks back, when I had a bit of a meltdown about the whole yucky tights-photo-stealing creepers. Your kind words on that post meant a lot! Thank you, thank you, thank you! (This post here is the one I’m talking about.)

Have any other bloggers out there had to deal with photo-stealers? What did you do? And, on a lighter note, what’s your favorite pattern/fit for a dress? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’m sucker for dots and heels.. so you know I’m totally in love with this outfit! 🙂

And yes, before I started watermarking my stuff.. some of my photos were spotted on Indian dating sites.. which was so weird to hear!

    1. Polka dots are the best! 🙂 And oh my goodness, that would be rather strange to hear! Good move watermarking your photos!

  2. Seriously? A tights fetish site? Gross. (well, not gross that people out there like tights…I guess everyone has their own “thing” lol, but gross that they stole your picture to use on an unsavory site). SO sorry that this happened to you! I’m glad that you disabled the right-click, seems like it was the right thing to do. Here’s hoping that nothing like this happens in the future!

This dress must be my favorite thing you have ever worn – I’m so jealous of it! It is the perfect cut, and such a great pattern! I also love how your hair looks. Way to rock it!

    1. I think in this case gross is the right word. Haha. Most of these sites I’ve stumbled on are quite disturbing…and not geared toward folks who just happen to like tights (although, there a few that are just about tights fashion). But I do not like the fact that I now know these things! I’m hoping without the right click these photo stealers will be a little more deterred. And thank you so much! This is definitely my new favorite dress. 🙂 And thank you for the hair compliment! 🙂

  3. This outfit is so cute! I had no idea about tight stealing creeps D: (As someone who wears tights on the regular, this is a bit concerning :S)

    1. Thank you so much! And oh yes, these creepy dudes unfortunately exist. 🙁 I’m hoping that by not making it so easy for them to take the photos, they’ll just leave me alone. 🙂

  4. That’s a beautiful dress! Even though I wear jeans or leggings now and then, I’m still can’t get enough of dresses, and this one is fabulous!

  5. I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I’ve run across those sites when I’m searching for outfit ideas and inspiration. I feel bad for the women who are unknowing participants. Its a little twisted that you wear tights and get turned into an object and some of those same people would be completely disgusted by the thought of me dressing up to express the real me. But I am really glad that you aren’t letting them dictate what you do and don’t post. You are so good at putting together outfits and your tights really complement what you wear! (Even if I did judge you that one time for too much pattern going on with the dotted tights…;) )I love this look. I think the fit and flare dress is really what I’m looking for to give the impression that I have curves. I think my struggle will be finding the dress or shape wear with the right fit so that the flare can do its thing!

    1. Aw thank you, Patrick. The world is indeed a very strange place. And I agree…I do think a fit and flare dress would compliment you. I unfortunately do not have a lot of knowledge in shapewear, though. But as for the dress, I would check out eShakti. I have a couple super cute fit and flare dresses from them and they let you customize your dress to your liking, as well as to your measurements – pretty nifty! And you get $40 off your first purchase, so you could get your first dress for next to nothing! 🙂

  6. Love this dress Sweety! And, eeeewww to the creeps who stole your pictures! ! You had to have just about froze your little but of taking these pictures. The one thing Lindsey failed to mention girls is it is still only in the 20s here in Wisconsin! !
Just love all of your outfits! !
    Your biggest fan! !!
    Love,
    Auntie Wendy. <3

    1. Awww thank you so much, Aunt Wendy! Haha it wasn’t too bad out that day, and I was only outside for few minutes. 🙂 Love you too!

  7. I loooooove this outfit! That dress is so perfect for you! It’s so very pretty, and I want it!! haha
The styling is brilliant, I love the tights, and I say good for you for wearing them! We can’t let things like that control the way we live! It’s gross and it sucks, but don’t limit yourself to others. You’re awesome! Also, your hair is particularly awesome here – the styling works so well with the dress and the look you are going for.
    Much love,
    Mona

    1. Awww thank you dear, Mona! You always have the best advice & the sweetest things to say! And thank you for the hair compliment – that very rarely happens (because I have no idea what I’m doing in that area, haha)!

  8. Ummm, what?!?! That’s a crazy story involving the er, tights enthusiast! #whoa Love this outfit though, and I love the shoes with this outfit especially! I think part of the fun of having a blog is having practical ideas about how to style things in seasons and for different occasions,…but also to just get dressed up! XO

    1. Yeah the tights enthusiast was, ah, interesting. And thank you so much! I get so much use out of these shoes! And I agree…sometimes it’s fun to just get dressed up! 🙂

  9. This dress was made for you! Absolute perfection. I love the polka dots and colors. Reminds me of summer and the 4th of July! Ive never had photo stealing problems that I know, but I certainly would not be happy if I did. My favorite fot for a dress would be fit and flare. Its so 1950s!

    amandabrezovsky.com

    1. Aw thank you, Amanda! It does remind of the 4th of July, too! Glad to hear you have not had that issue! And the 1950s are the best decade for fashion, in my opinion. 🙂

  10. I’m glad you’re back to wearing tights–these ones are perfect with this dress! It really stinks that you had to deal with that gross photo-stealing situation, but instead of giving up on tights, you fought back and found a way to discourage those creeps from taking your pictures! As far as I’m aware, this hasn’t happened to me, but I’m well aware it could happen at any time. I have a feeling I’m going to start getting a little worked up, so I’ll stop right where I am!

Anyway, you’re a total knockout, and that dress is perfect on you. Keep being incredible! 🙂

    1. Aw thank you so much for the kind words, Devinne! You’re the best! And I hope you never have to deal with that situation. And thank you – this dress is definitely a keeper. 🙂
