As much as I want fall to be here, it most definitely is still summer! Shorts are almost never featured on my blog during summer because I have the hardest time finding a pair that fits me, looks nice and are still comfortable. But behold! I have found a pair that fits and they’re comfortable….and I think they look nice! (That brings my current shorts collection to 2 pairs!)

I picked these up in the most recent ModCloth sale, and they have been getting a lot of use lately! They’re true to size, and I like how well these shorts and sandals match too. These sandals are only available in a mustard color now, but I found a similar pair I linked to above. The sizing was kind of wonky with these sandals and I actually sized up a half size, but they’re super comfortable!

The day had started out cool enough that I thought I could get away with wearing a cropped cardigan and my little scarf. I liked that the cardigan showed off the buttons on these shorts. I wasn’t in the mood to show my belly button off, though. So, I put a cami underneath the cardigan and tucked it in. I really liked the way this outfit looked, but by about lunch time the temps were soaring, and I had to change.

So, the photos below are what I wore for the rest of the day, haha. I actually preferred this outfit more. The top is more comfortable, but it doesn’t show off the buttons on these shorts like I wanted.

  1. I absolutely love how you styled this. I have trouble with shorts too. I love the ones you picked. I am so ready for fall too. I cannot believe it’s almost here.

  2. The button detailing on these shorts is just darling! They have an almost steampunk vibe. And the dark, rich orange pairs beautifully with the ivory. Warm, restrained, and still polished. And I am obsessed with the bag! I keep checking it out on LTK.

  3. Cute!!! I do have trouble with shorts, I have long legs, and a very “wide load” 😉 I prefer skirts and pants, but it’s so hot in Florida, I wear shorts or skirts most of the time, and these are a great option!

    1. I have the same issues! I usually go for skirts and dresses, but it’s nice to have a pair of shorts as an option too. 🙂

  4. The shorts are so cute, and I like them worn both ways, even if you didn’t like your top covering the buttons very much in the second outfit 🙂

Hope that your weekend is off to a nice start 🙂 I went to a big opshop sale this morning and picked up some bargains! 🙂

  5. I have to admit that I wear shorts more now than I did 10 years ago. I think it’s kinda me being a rebel.
