Look! There’s snow! And I’m wearing an honest-to-goodness winter outfit – the first one in many moons! Haha. Don’t worry this isn’t Sydney. This was actually my Christmas Eve outfit for when I was back home by my family.

I passed up the traditional red and green outfit for a couple of reasons this year. First being I really wanted to wear this outfit but it’s been too warm in Sydney, haha. The top and the skirt were recent Black Friday purchases from ModCloth that I absolutely love…and have been wearing constantly. But I really like the way this outfit looks with booties, a pair of tights and a pop of color! (I had gotten some inspiration from Brittney in her feature!)

However, please note, both the top and the skirt are most definitely not white, they are cream. I was really in for a surprise, because every photo I’ve seen of this skirt always made it look white, but it certainly isn’t! It’s still adorable – and honestly, I’ve even seen it in person a while back (my friend, Shannon, bought it way before I did), so I should’ve remembered it’s cream and black.

And the second reason I didn’t look too Christmassy was because my mom wanted a family photo “to keep up all year” of all us kids. I honestly can’t remember the last time all us siblings (and my husband) were all in the same spot at one time. It was really awesome!

I also got to meet my nephew, Henry, when I was home for Christmas…but I’m going to make you guys wait until next week to see photos of him. (Spoiler: He’s the cutest little man ever!) 😉

Did you get to see any family members you haven’t seen in a long time over the holidays? Let me know in the comments!

I will be leaving for India pretty soon too. Love this wintry look.
Yellow is such a happy color and goes so well with this pretty skirt.
I too have a similar ribbon skirt. Love how I can style it.

    1. Aw, thank you, Aunt Wendy! It was great to see you guys over the holidays too! And I am not missing the cold weather you guys are getting right now. Haha. 😉

  4. Wow, what a gorgeous outfit — and you wear it so well. The ensemble captures and displays your natural feminine beauty.

  5. I loved your outfit, it did’t have to be Christmassy! And yes, I thought it was white, but you said it’s cream. Loved the yellow cardigan and the skirt in cream and black and also, the siblings’ picture! I love to have pictures with my brothers, but they seldom like to be photographed – or at least by me 🙂 True, to Sydney this time the outfit would be too much, it’s summer! It’s really lovely, I liked the color combination and now I am eager to see your nephew! Hope you have a great weekend, dear Lindsey!

  6. I saw this outfit on ModCloth and I had to gasp. It’s so beautiful. That intense dark saffron yellow is one of my favourite colours, and it looks ridiculously good with the black&white (pardon, black&cream). I’m so inspired to try this look in my own way. I’m going to wear a black and cream dress I have with my mustard yellow cardi. I always wear it with red, but this is even better! I love love love it!
Now I can’t wait to wear that, haha!
Anyway, you look magnificent in this outfit. So so beautiful. And so does your family!
    Much love,
    Mona

    1. Oh gosh, thank you so much, Mona! I’m so happy you like it! Haha. Oh yes, black & cream. I can’t wait to see your outfit! I’ve recently discovered just how versatile this yellow cardi actually is – I can’t believe I never used it that much before. 🙂

  7. I love this look. I’ve been keeping my eye on a similar skirt from White House Black Market that is a midi skirt with black/gold/cream stripes. Your outfit may just push me over the edge to get it. The pop of color is very cute. I shy away from yellow because it isn’t very flattering on me, but you look great in it. How hard was it to come back to the cold? I would hate to leave summer for winter…except for the fashion. I love winter outfits more. I would miss them too much to skip the season entirely.

    1. Aw, thank you so much, Patrick! And now I’m going to have to check out White House Black Market! I feel like the only way this skirt could be better is if it was midi length. Haha. And coming back to the cold was weirdly not too bad. I think having spent my entire life in the cold temps made it not too shocking to come back to. And I hear you, winter outfits are SO much more fun to style. I really missed it! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  8. You look ADORABLE, Lindsey! I love everything about this outfit!! We also got our first snow of the year today so I can’t wait to get out and take some photos (but maybe not when it’s 20 degrees outside….)

I got to see a lot of my family I haven’t seen in a year, which was really nice.
