Dragon Dress Shein

Let me start out by saying, dragons are awesome. And if you can have dragons on your dress, by all means, do it. My love of dragons probably stems from my obsession with Game of Thrones…which has some pretty incredible dragons in it.

However, I had actually bought this dress because I had seen its designer inspiration at The Met this summer. I fell in love with the detail of this Laurence Xu dragon robe dress immediately. (This was part of the China: Through the Looking Glass exhibit.)

However, I don’t believe I will ever be able to afford the original version of this dress. So, Shein came to the rescue, once again, to give me an affordable option. I honestly think I spent a total of $6 on this dress, because it was on sale, and I had a coupon! This dress seems to be just a smidge too big on me, especially through the waist. However, for the $6 I spent…I am more than happy with it.

I also have a confession, after I took these photos I ended up wearing this dress out with a cardigan. I wasn’t a fan of how a cardigan looked with this dress, but I was too darn cold to not wear one. It was a slightly warmer than usual day, but the wind was a bit nasty. (See photo below. Haha.)

And this dress was a good reason to break out my blue heels again. It’s been a while! And these guys are finally getting broken in enough that my wide feet no longer scream in pain when I wear them (they were originally a bit on the narrow side). But hey, these heels are less than $20…so, again, I can’t complain too much about them being a bit narrow! (So, this whole outfit cost me less than $30. How about that?)

Do you have any mythical creatures you are slightly obsessed with? Let me know in the comments!

  1. This dress is amazing! Like soooo amazing – you look incredible in it! It’s so colourful and lovely. And I love how structured it is! Gorgeous. And so nice with those heels.
I have a thing for selkies lately. I just love selkies!
    Much love,

    1. Aww thank you dear Mona! I hate to admit it, but I actually had to Google selkies! But I’m sure glad I did, they sound awesome!

  2. That is a gorgeous dress! And 6 bucks is an awesome deal! Looking gorgeous! 🙂

Cold temperatures.. tell me about it! At least, you stayed outside. After my France snow photo-shoot (which lasted less than half an hour.. probably less than 10 minutes :P), I just dove inside the apartment and onwards to the jacuzzi! 😛

I have wide feet too.. so I literally know your pain. It’s usually why I end up going up one size and opt for heels with a strap. 😉

    1. Thank you so much, Natassia! Spring can come anytime now! Haha. And having wide feet is such a pain (literally). I tend to size up, especially in heels too…but I hate how my feet slip then. It’s such a battle, haha.

    1. Thank you so much, Lili! And fortunately, Shein does run amazing deals all the time…and hardly any of their dresses are over $25!

  7. The colours in this dress are absolutely amazing! I love how bright it is! I’m also so jealous that you’re wearing a summery dress haha. I’ve been bundled up like a snowman over here!

    1. Thank you so much, Lee! 🙂 And fortunately, I took these photos a couple weeks ago..and it was freakishly warm (except for the darn wind). I’m glad I had taken these photos ahead of time, because this week is SO cold and windy. It’s terrible.

  9. This dress is incredible! I love the crazy print, and even better that it was so cheap! Although I had to laugh at the dragon placement – it appears to be right over your….well, you know 🙂 lol!

Also, I think you look so gorgeous in that windy pic! You look amazing in every photo, but that one just really makes me smile.

How is the SheIn sizing, and how is the quality?

    1. Aw. Thank you, Jen! Hahahaha I did not notice that until now! Dear god I need my eyes checked! (But I mean, totally appropriate place for a dragon, bahaha.) As for Shein sizing, it’s usually true to size (for me at least). However, I would definitely double check their size chart on the item…as some dresses and skirts can run small.. or in the case of this dress, a bit large. But as long as I follow along with that size chart I’ve been ok. For this dress I honestly can’t remember if I just didn’t look at the chart or if I took a gamble, because stock was limited.

  10. This dress is really cute, it looks great on you! I think I would like it even more if it had a more form-fitting skirt (which I don’t think is your preferred style) More like a classic silky Japanese dress. Not a kimono, more like something a hostess would wear at a high-end japanese restaurant. Of course, something like that might be a little more than $10… I love the heels too, they bring out the blue in the dress really well. And this is the first time I’ve really noticed your eyebrows, which are lovely. I was getting mine threaded before Christmas but have slacked on that so they’ve gotten bushy again. I might have to show them a pic of yours and say “Do THIS to me!”

    1. Thank you so much, Patrick! And I know exactly what you are talking about! That type of dress is gorgeous…but I do tend to gravitate to the fit and flare, just because they are more comfortable for me (and then I’m more likely to get some use out of them). Haha, and thank you for the compliment on my eyebrows! Mine are usually pretty bushy, but I did just recently get around to getting them threaded. I really like threading over waxing. 🙂
