My Most Popular & Least Popular Blog Posts of 2017

Another year has come to an end! I hope you all had a wonderful 2017 and an even more wonderful 2018. Thank you so much for following Have Clothes, Will Travel through this year – I appreciate each and every one of you taking time out of your days to read my posts.

And as I did last year, I put together this post to show which of my blog posts were hits and which were flops this year. This will be a list of the posts that had the most page views in 2017, and I’m also going to share my least popular ones. (3 least popular & 10 for the most popular.) I’m only going to be including the posts I personally wrote on this blog, and I’m not limiting to when it was published…some of these posts were some of my very first posts on this blog that just took off in the year 2017! It’s always fun to compare these numbers at the end of the year.

So, without further ado, here’s my popularity list of 2017, starting with the least viewed.

Least Popular Posts of 2017

3.) Experiencing Maori Culture in Rotorua, New Zealand

This was one of the last posts in my New Zealand series – but it is one of my favorite memories of New Zealand, despite the low amount of views! Our night at the Tamaki Maori Village was incredibly interesting. I especially loved that we were able to see “The Haka” (a traditional Maori war dance) performed. (That’s what the video is above.)

2.) Peru: How to Get From Cusco to Puno (and Back)

Church of Andahuaylilas

Ok, this post was admittedly geared toward a very specific audience, and I’m not exactly surprised “Peru: How to Get From Cusco to Puno (and Back)” is on the least popular list. I hope this one will gain popularity in the future, though, and be useful to anyone planning a Peru adventure!

1.) Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland: “New Zealand’s Most Colorful Volcanic Area”

And the least popular post of 2017 is Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland: “New Zealand’s Most Colorful Volcanic Area.” Weird looking volcanic activity is not quite as interesting as I thought it was going to be. Ah, well! You can’t win them all.

10.) My 1st Online Order Horror Story

Fortunately, this has been my 1st and only online order horror story! The coat pictured above had caused a ton of problems…but also, fortunately, this horror story did have a happy enough ending.

9.) DON’T Waste Your Time Booking This Cairns Tour

I’m kind of glad this post was as popular as it was. Hopefully, there are at least a few people who were able to plan their Cairns, Australia trips a little better than I did! This tour was such a waste of a day in Cairns…

8.) A Perfect Great Barrier Reef Experience

And how about that? My favorite day from our Cairns adventure is the next most popular post! I’m excited so many folks were interested in my Great Barrier Reef travel post.

2 beauty posts in a row! Maybe I’ll have to write a few more beauty posts in 2018! This eyelash extension post also made my most popular list in 2016 – so, needless to say, this one has been quite the hit!

2.) 10 Quirky Things To Do in New Orleans

Wow, and this is another one that’s been on my top 10 list for 2 years running! It’s crazy because when I initially published this post, I hardly had any page views on it. But it has certainly taken off since then!

1.) 15 Online Stores Similar to ModCloth

And the most popular blog post on Have Clothes, Will Travel for the year 2017 is “15 Online Stores Similar to ModCloth.” This one makes me a teensy bit sad, as ModCloth had been the reason I intially started this blog. But all of the changes there have also helped broaden my style and shopping horizons!

  1. Wow, yeah I am shocked by it actually! I was sure sky diving would be there as that’s the one I remember most! But it doesn’t surprise me about the Modcloth style post and the beauty ones, they are pretty popular! PS – Checking out the horror story one now!
