Lauren Conrad Shared Her Low-Key Beauty Routine at 40 — and It’s Surprisingly Relatable
She opened up about Botox, diet, and why she’s not trying to look like her 18-year-old self anymore.

If you’ve been seeing Lauren Conrad everywhere again lately, it’s not just because of the Laguna Beach reunion buzz.
In a recent appearance on Kristin Cavallari’s podcast Let’s Be Honest, which is also up on YouTube, Conrad got surprisingly candid about what she actually does (and doesn’t do) when it comes to beauty, wellness, and getting older.
And it’s not the kind of routine you usually hear from celebrities.
She talked about sticking to “light Botox,” skipping fillers after trying them once, and keeping her skincare routine pretty simple. She also shared that her diet is more restrictive than she’d like, thanks to food intolerances, not because she’s following a trend.
It’s a very different tone from the early 2000s reality TV era she came from, and honestly, that’s part of why it’s getting so much attention right now.
She’s Not Anti-Botox—Just Keeping It Minimal
Conrad didn’t frame Botox as something she’s against, just something she uses sparingly.
She said she does “light Botox,” but that’s about it. Fillers didn’t stick; she tried them and decided they weren’t for her. It’s a pretty low-key approach compared to what you usually hear in celebrity beauty routines.
Her Skincare Routine Is Simple (and Consistent)
There’s no complicated system here.
She mentioned getting facial massages every other week and staying consistent with the basics, like actually washing her face and keeping up with her routine.
Her Diet Is Strict—But Not by Choice
Her eating habits sound intense at first, but there’s a reason behind them.
Conrad said she avoids dairy, grains, and legumes and limits nightshades, mostly because of food intolerances she’s had tested. She even joked that she’s “not the person you want to go to a restaurant with.”
She’s Not Cutting Out Everything She Enjoys
Even with all that, she’s not trying to be perfect about it.
She said she still loves things like French fries and just focuses on what doesn’t bother her. She’s also cut back on drinking in recent years, not for a big health reset, but because she’s tired and it doesn’t feel worth it anymore.
Her Workout Routine Sounds Like Real Life
Right now, she’s sticking with tennis and Pilates.
She also joked that her algorithm keeps reminding her she’s 40 and should be lifting heavier, which… feels familiar.
Seeing Her Younger Self Again Was a Bit of a Shock
The reunion brought back more than just old memories.
She talked about how strange it was to see footage of her 18-year-old self next to who she is now. But instead of spiraling into comparison, she made it clear she’s not interested in picking herself apart the way she might have in the past.
And maybe that’s why this is resonating; there’s no big transformation story here. Just someone who’s figured out what works for her and moved on from the rest.
If you’ve been following how celebrity beauty conversations are shifting lately, there’s been a lot of similar reaction to Lindsay Lohan’s recent cover moment, and on a more practical note, I’ve even found myself rethinking small things in my own routine, like what I sleep on to protect my lashes and neck.
