The Pillow That’s Saving My Eyelash Extensions (and My Neck)
I finally found a pillow that helps keep my eyelash extensions intact…even as a side and stomach sleeper. Here’s how it works, what to know before buying, and why it’s been worth every penny.
I’ll be the first to admit…I’m a hopeless side and stomach sleeper. Always have been. Which is terrible for eyelash extensions, among many other things. I’ve tried the silk pillowcases, the satin ones, the special “lash-safe” sleep masks, you name it. Nothing really helped. By the time I’d hit my three-week lash fill, half my lashes had vanished into the night.
So when I stumbled across the Nurse Jamie Beauty Bear Memory Foam Pillow, I wasn’t thinking about wrinkles (which is what it’s actually marketed for). I was thinking, hmm… that weird U-shape might keep my face off the pillow just enough to stop smashing my lashes. And it worked better than I expected!

What the Pillow Claims to Do
According to Nurse Jamie, the Beauty Bear is designed to “reinforce good sleeping habits, not wrinkles.” It’s made of memory foam with a unique U-shape meant to cradle your face and neck, whether you sleep on your back or side. The idea is to reduce the skin creasing that can cause premature wrinkles and to give your neck better support while you sleep.
It comes in a satin or bamboo finish and sells for about $89 on Revolve.com. I get almost all of my beauty products there because they carry so many of my favorite brands, their customer service is top-notch, and shipping is usually just two days. Not sponsored, just genuinely one of my favorite places to shop for beauty stuff.
Why I Thought It Might Help My Lashes
The biggest problem with side or stomach sleeping is how much pressure your face (and by extension, your lashes) endures against the pillow. Even with a silk pillowcase, you’re still pressing directly into the surface. The Nurse Jamie pillow looked like it might prevent that. Those open “prongs” on the sides keep your cheeks and lashes slightly suspended instead of buried in fabric.
Basically, I was hoping to cheat gravity. And apparently, gravity blinked first.
My Experience (and Proof It’s Working)
Before this pillow, my 3-week lash fills were basically full sets. I’d lose so many lashes that my lash artist and I joked it was like starting from scratch. After switching pillows, I took a before-and-after photo (below), and the difference is wild. (This is also a good show of a before and after a Moxi laser treatment lol.) I went from barely-there lashes at three weeks to almost all of them still intact. My lash artist was so impressed that she is ordering the same pillow now.

And just to be clear, I didn’t change anything else. Same eye cream (for the record, this is the only one that doesn’t screw up my lashes too), same makeup, same sleeping habits. The pillow is the only new factor.
It also surprised me how much better my neck felt. The shape naturally encourages you to keep your head aligned instead of cranking to one side. I used to wake up with a stiff neck and shoulders from sleeping in strange angles, and that’s disappeared (much to my chiropractor’s dismay lol). I guess all that “anti-wrinkle, ergonomic” talk wasn’t just marketing fluff after all.
Comfort Level: The Honest Part
Now for the catch: this pillow is flat. Like, surprisingly flat. If you try to use it by itself, I completely understand why people say it’s uncomfortable in the reviews section. It’s not enough cushioning on its own, at least not for me.

What worked for me was layering it on top of a regular pillow. That gave it the perfect amount of height and support. Bonus: my neck and shoulder pain (which I’d been blaming on bad posture) has improved a ton since switching. I used to sleep with two stacked pillows to feel supported, now, just the regular pillow + this one does the trick.

A Few Real-World Notes
- I keep this satin pillowcase over the Beauty Bear to protect it from my face creams (and, let’s be honest, drool).
- I still wash the interior case weekly because it shows every stain otherwise.
- It’s technically travel-friendly, though it’s not exactly compact. I’ve started smushing it down into my bag because the one trip I skipped it, my lashes were nearly gone by the time I got home.
- I do toss and turn some nights, and when I end up on the side that isn’t pronged, I’ll wake up with a few light sleep lines on that side of my face. Still, even then, it’s much gentler on my lashes than a traditional pillow; the extensions survive the night instead of getting crushed flat.
- I can’t say whether it’s helping with wrinkles (that feels like a long-term experiment), but it makes sense that it could. Dermatologists often say side-sleeping creates “sleep wrinkles” over time, and the pillow’s design at least minimizes that pressure.

Should You Buy It?
If you’re a side or stomach sleeper with lash extensions, I’d say yes—this pillow is worth trying. It’s not perfect, and comfort is subjective (pillows are like shoes; what saves one person’s neck might hurt another’s). But for me, it’s been a total game-changer.
I finally wake up with most of my lashes still attached and my neck/shoulders not screaming at me. That’s a win I didn’t know a funny-looking pillow could deliver.
