Appleton “ICE” Video Is Blowing Up Online — Here’s What Police Say Happened
APPLETON, Wis. — The Appleton Police Department says a video circulating online that claims to show U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents operating in Appleton is not accurate.
According to police, the clip shows officers in tactical uniforms in an Appleton neighborhood — but those individuals were not ICE agents. Instead, APD says they were members of “a local multijurisdictional drug task force operating in Appleton with support from Appleton Officers.”
Police also encouraged residents to reach out directly if they’re unsure about what they’re seeing online.
“If the identity of an officer in Appleton is ever in question, people are welcome to contact the Appleton Police Department,” the department said in its statement.
APD points residents to immigration policy
In response to the confusion, APD also shared its immigration policy publicly, outlining how the department approaches immigration-related situations and interactions with federal immigration officials.

If a clip claims to show law enforcement activity but you’re not sure it’s legitimate, APD recommends contacting the department rather than relying on social media speculation.
