Bryana Holly Explained the Real Reason People Were Talking About Her Oscars Party Look
After critics started fixating on Bryana Holly’s look at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, she responded with something a lot of moms immediately understood.
“I am seeing the comments around my chest and not that anyone is owed an explanation,” Holly wrote. “But this is the product of a breast feeding mother who hasn’t fed her babies in hours ok! If you know then you know.”
That pretty quickly changed the tone of the conversation.
A lot of the comments were supportive from the jump, with plenty of people saying she looked great and that the criticism was ridiculous in the first place. But once Holly explained what was actually going on, even more people chimed in to say the same thing: this was basic biology, not some scandal.
“I can feel this picture!” one person wrote. Another added, “It wasn’t anybody’s business, but her body was doing something very natural that lactating mothers away from their kiddos go through.”
A few women also related a little too hard to Holly’s explanation.
“Not going to lie, I totally miss my chest after having my children,” one commenter joked. “It was painful, but man was worth it.”
Not everyone was focused on Holly’s look, though. Plenty of commenters were too busy reacting to Nicholas Hoult’s blond hair to care much about the dress at all. Honestly, I had the same reaction. Hoult’s hair caught my attention long before Holly’s outfit did. I mean he normally looks like the photo above… so it was a bit of a drastic change!
And frankly, I think Holly looked fantastic, and her response was a good reminder that people online are often way too comfortable commenting on women’s bodies without knowing the full story. In this case, it was a very normal reality of breastfeeding that many mothers immediately recognized.
