Nevada Just Launched a Free Area 51-Themed Road Trip — and Yes, It Includes Alien Stops
The new “Area 51(ish) Adventure” takes travelers to 10 alien-themed stops across Nevada, from UFO museums to the Little A’Le’Inn.

Nevada has decided to lean all the way into its extraterrestrial reputation, and honestly, I love that for them.
Travel Nevada recently launched the Area 51(ish) Adventure, a free digital experience that sends travelers to 10 alien-themed and otherworldly stops around the state. The idea is simple: sign up, pull up the pass on your phone, and check in at locations as you go.
And yes, this includes some of the stops you would probably hope for.

Travelers who join the adventure get access to a digital guide they can open anytime through a text or email link. From there, they can check in at different locations across Nevada and earn points for Travel Nevada swag and prizes. Even people doing just part of the route can still rack up points.
A few of the featured stops sound especially fun.

There is the Black Mailbox, an odd landmark that has become a longtime stop for UFO enthusiasts. Over the years, people have used it to leave notes, trinkets, and messages meant for extraterrestrials, which tells you pretty quickly what kind of energy this trip is going for.

Then there is Outpost 51 Alien Museum in Boulder City, which leans hard into the theme with lifelike alien displays and exhibits centered on UFO encounters and Area 51 legends.
And of course, there is the Little A’Le’Inn, which may be the most Nevada stop in the lineup. The family-run property has been around for more than 25 years and is packed with UFO memorabilia, themed food and drinks, and the sort of roadside atmosphere that people either find delightfully weird or immediately start photographing.

Area 51 has been part of American pop culture for decades, and a recent YouGov poll found that 56% of U.S. adults believe aliens probably exist. So yes, Nevada probably knows exactly what it is doing here.
Travelers can also earn prizes along the way, including a glow-in-the-dark Extraterrestrial Highway license plate frame, Travel Nevada x Blind Dog Coffee beans, and a mystery enamel pin.
