Caribbean Flights Are Way Down for 2026 — These Routes and Islands Offer the Best Deals Under $300
If you’ve been fantasizing about bailing on winter and heading for turquoise water, 2026 is finally giving travelers a break.
Dollar Flight Club analyzed hundreds of thousands of flights from major U.S. airports to popular Caribbean islands for trips between January and April 2026 and found something we haven’t seen much of lately: a big batch of round-trip fares under $300.
The best prices are showing up on routes from Florida to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, from the Northeast to Puerto Rico, and from a handful of Texas and Southeast hubs. In other words, if you’re near a major East Coast or Sunbelt airport, this might be the year to stop doom-scrolling beach photos and actually book one.
This breakdown walks through the cheapest routes, the best-value islands, and when to book if you want to lock in a deal instead of a “how is this economy?” price.

Bahamas (Nassau)
Flight prices and timing:
Round-trip fares to Nassau (NAS) are starting around $240 from Fort Lauderdale and Miami, down from an average of about $460 in early 2025. The strongest availability is in January and March, when budget airlines and legacy carriers are actively undercutting each other on price.
Why go:
The Bahamas is one of the easiest Caribbean escapes from the U.S. Flights are short, the weather is reliably warm, and you get the classic clear, turquoise water that looks exactly like the screensavers—without a long-haul flight. It’s a great option if you just want a three- or four-day reset that still feels like a real vacation, not a complicated mileage project.

Puerto Rico (San Juan)
Flight prices and timing:
San Juan (SJU) is one of the most competitive Caribbean markets this winter. Dollar Flight Club is tracking round-trip fares as low as $116 from Newark, around $136 from JFK, and roughly $150 from Fort Lauderdale. Average prices are hovering in the $330–$360 range through March, and routes from Detroit and Philadelphia are frequently coming in under $200–$220.
Why go:
Puerto Rico gives you a lot in one trip: colorful Old San Juan, rainforest hikes in El Yunque, road trips to quieter beaches, and plenty of nightlife and food in between. U.S. travelers don’t need a passport, which makes it even easier to pull off a semi-last-minute escape. It works just as well for a long weekend as it does for a full week.

Jamaica (Montego Bay)
Flight prices and timing:
Round-trip fares to Montego Bay (MBJ) have dipped as low as $214 from Fort Lauderdale, with typical prices landing around $400–$420. February currently has the strongest deal availability. Flights from Atlanta and Dallas are pricing about 10% lower than last winter, which is a noticeable change on those routes.
Why go:
Jamaica is a solid pick if you want beaches plus culture: music, food, and a pretty constant vacation vibe. There’s a wide range of resorts, from big all-inclusive properties to smaller spots. (These are some of the best places to stay.) Parts of the island were affected by Hurricane Melissa, so it’s worth checking current updates before you go. When visitation ramps up again, tourist dollars become a direct way to support local recovery.

Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo and resort areas)
Flight prices and timing:
Santo Domingo (SDQ) saw several sharp price drops in October and November 2025, with roundtrip fares hitting about $200 from Fort Lauderdale. Average prices are holding around $410, still roughly 12% lower than the same time last year. Late February and early March are shaping up as key windows to watch, especially for Tuesday and Wednesday departures.
Why go:
The Dominican Republic is one of the best-value spots in the Caribbean if you like the idea of checking into a resort and not thinking too hard about anything else. You’ve got rainforests, long stretches of white-sand beach, historic cities, and an enormous range of all-inclusive options at different price points. It works for couples, families, and groups who just want sun, pools, and easy logistics.

Aruba
Flight prices and timing:
Flights to Aruba (AUA) are currently pricing as low as $198 roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, with average fares hovering around $400 through April. Shoulder-season dates in late March and early April are running about 8–10% cheaper than peak February, which is good news if your schedule isn’t locked to school breaks.
Why go:
Aruba’s big selling point is reliability. It’s famously sunny almost all year and sits outside the usual hurricane belt. If you want calm beaches, predictable weather, and minimal weather-related stress, this is a strong choice. You’re not gambling with storm season; you’re pretty much booking guaranteed beach time.

Barbados (Bridgetown)
Flight prices and timing:
Fares to Bridgetown (BGI) are trending below $280 roundtrip from East Coast hubs like Newark and Philadelphia, with averages around $430 through March. Airlines like JetBlue and American have added more seats on these routes, which helps keep prices from spiking as hard around school vacation weeks.
Why go:
Barbados stitches together a lot of what people love about the Caribbean: pretty beaches, lively local neighborhoods, and an underrated food and rum scene. It still flies slightly under the radar compared to some of the most famous resort islands, which can translate into a more relaxed, less overcrowded trip once you’re on the ground.

St. Lucia
Flight prices and timing:
Flights to St. Lucia (UVF) from New York have dipped to about $255 roundtrip, with average prices around $420 through March. Midweek departures are where the best value is showing up right now, often pricing up to 20% lower than weekend flights.
Why go:
If you want drama in your scenery, St. Lucia is hard to beat. You’ve got volcanic peaks, lush hillsides, and dark-sand beaches that look made for postcards. It’s a good fit for travelers who want to mix beach time with activities like boat trips, snorkeling, or hikes, instead of just parking at a resort pool the entire time.

Grand Cayman
Flight prices and timing:
Round-trip fares to Grand Cayman (GCM) have dropped to about $205 from Fort Lauderdale, with average prices around $380 in February and March. Routes from Houston and Dallas are also coming in under $300 this year, which the report notes hasn’t happened consistently in more than two years.
Why go:
Grand Cayman has a more polished, high-end feel, but in this fare cycle, you don’t necessarily have to spend like you’re in a luxury brochure just to get there. Once you arrive, the water is incredibly clear, the diving and snorkeling are world-class, and Seven Mile Beach tends to convert even skeptical “I’m not a beach person” types. Grand Cayman is also one of the safest Caribbean islands to visit.
