Let Them Stare

This outfit had indeed caught the eye of many of the people I encountered while wearing it. Some folks were sneaky about their glances, while others were openly gaping…trying to figure out what kind of event I was dressed for (at least that’s what I think they were thinking). The looks could have something to do with my enormous sun hat or brightly colored midi skirt… or maybe it’s because I walk like a newborn calf in these heels. Either way, I say, “Let them stare!”

I love the way this big sun hat brought this whole outfit together. I hope everyone likes it as well as I do, because it will be on the blog a lot this summer! Not only is it cute, but I’m pretty sure it will be impossible to get a sunburn while wearing it. It does, however, make getting in and out of vehicles interesting.

My skirt is a really exciting find I couldn’t wait to share with you all! Guess how much it cost. Go ahead, guess! OK, I’ll tell you…It was $23!! It was from the site, Sheinside (recently renamed “Shein”). I’ve seen this site before on other blogs, but was always hesitant to buy anything from them. Sheinside’s prices just seemed a bit too good to be true. However, I could not be happier with this skirt! I bought another midi skirt (around $20) that is gorgeous and a really fun caped dress (less than $20!) I can’t wait to wear…and the quality is great for all the pieces. I will definitely be ordering from Sheinside again!

Jamberry nails

Jamberry nails

I also tried something new with my nails for this post. Alissa, a lovely Jamberry consultant, sent me these fun nail wraps to try out. I am someone who very rarely paints my nails. This is because 1.) I’m terrible at it 2.) I’m lazy and hate taking the time to do it, and I also get lazy and never remove my polish…so it just sits there and chips and looks awful.

Jamberry nail wraps were really easy to apply, though! You just heat them up with your blow dryer and press them on….and they don’t chip off! They are also incredibly easy to remove, you just get them a little warm with your blow dryer and peel them off. As you can see, though, a couple of my nails I didn’t apply very well. I had a hard time putting on my index fingers for some reason, and they are a bit wrinkly. I think with a little more practice I could apply them all without wrinkles, though.

*Now, I’m curious, do you have an outfit that garners some stares when you wear it? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I ordered this skirt after reading your blog. Thank you so much! My skirt looks so flared and puffy, did you iron it a lot to get it into this shape? Please help! I love the skirt but not it’s weird shape

Hi Sahanna! I did spend quite a long time ironing the skirt after I received it in the mail. However, it was just because it was wrinkly from its packaging. I don’t believe the shape changed too much. Mine is a bit poofy and flared as well. If you aren’t happy with it after you iron it I would contact Sheinside’s (now named “Shein” as of yesterday) customer service. I believe they have a 30 day return policy. I hope this helps a little. Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂 And thank you for stopping by my blog!

Thank you so much, Lauren! And so far, I have no negative thoughts on Sheinside…I just placed another order with them, too. (A dress for only $11 and free shipping – can’t beat that!)

  3. That is a stunning outfit Lindsey! I will have to check Sheinside out. I am a fan of Jamberry too! Your nails look lovely and it will get easier to apply the jams the more you do it.

I need to look into this Jamberry nail wraps as I always get shellac because I hate when my nail polish chips! As soon as it chips I immediately take my nail polish off. I guess you could say it is a huge pet peeve of mine! LOL. This outfit is so classic and beautiful on you. I love flowy skirts and I love that this one has floral. Very put together!

That is the one advantage to having this wraps vs. shellac – no chipping! And they are so much easier to remove than shellac…but you do have to apply them yourself, which appears to be a bit of an issue for me. Haha. And thank you! This is one of my favorite outfits. 🙂

ADORE this outfit! I cannot even begin to tell you how fabulous you look! The hat is perfection and this skirt is incredibly pretty. I’ve wanted to buy from Sheinside for a while now, but was worried since reading some reviews about people never getting their orders. Did you have any trouble or was it just like ordering from anywhere else??

Aw, thank you so much! As for Sheinside, I had no issues with my order. It may have taken a bit longer to get to me, I want to say just over two weeks…but other than that there were no problems! I would definitely order from the again. You just can’t beat those prices!

Lol! I can picture how you get in a car with that hat! 😉 You are so funny! But I love this while outfit! I will stare at you too if I saw you on the street. 😉 Those nail wraps are very cute, love those floral ones. By the way, your rings are really pretty too!

Haha! Thank you, Grace! And thanks for stopping by my blog. I will have to let my husband know I’m getting compliments on those rings. 😉 He picked both out on his own. The little bow I believe came from Zales and my wedding ring came from BeautifulPetra on Etsy. 🙂

Thank you so much, Joanna! I felt as though this would be a good Kentucky Derby getup…I was a bit late to that party, but I did watch the Preakness Stakes that afternoon. Haha.

  8. Beautiful outfit. The print on that skirt is just lovely! I hadn’t heard of Sheinside before, I’ll be checking them out :). I love your sunhat, it definitely brings the whole outfit together.

Great outfit! Anyone staring was jealous!

I’ve seen Sheinside on other blogs, and have also been a bit hesitant to order. But I am so in love with that skirt I might need to give it a try…the prices are very tempting!

    1. haveclotheswilltravel says:

Haha! Thank you so much, Jennifer! For $20 you really can’t go wrong. My only complaint about this skirt was I had to spend some time ironing it after I took it out of the package. 😉
