Have you ever visited certain areas and noticed that a lot of tourists from one area visit there? This list goes over some of the top travel destinations by nationality, according to a recent online message board.

Cuba – Canadians

This Spanish-speaking Island nation has everything from beaches to old-world Spanish architecture and vibrant culture. Canadians have been visiting for years to enjoy the delicious food, beautiful scenery, and friendly people.

Cancun, Mexico – Americans

Since the United States and Mexico share a border, it makes sense why so many Americans travel there because of the convenient proximity. The exchange rate from dollars to Mexican pesos makes it so that, comparatively, things are extremely affordable for Americans visiting the beautiful resorts and beaches of Cancun.

Oahu, the Hawaiian island home to the capital city of Honolulu, is a popular vacation spot for Japanese visitors. The reason why many Japanese people visit Hawaii is likely similar to why many of us do, because the islands bring so much peace, relaxation, and comfort.

Croatia has always been an exciting place to visit, but its tourism has surged in recent years, partly because of the success of the hit television show Game of Thrones, which was famously filmed there. Italy’s proximity to Croatia makes it a fairly easy destination as well, with non-stop flights from Italy only lasting a couple of hours.

It’s no surprise that British people want to escape the cold, gray fog of the UK and spend time in warm coastal places for their time off. Florida, being the sunshine state, certainly attracts British travelers, while the theme parks in Orlando keep kids interested. Its location in the eastern part of the U.S. also makes for a shorter trip from Europe than California.

Philippines – Koreans

The Philippines is a popular vacation destination spot for Koreans, who appreciate the exchange rate in the country, which makes things very affordable. The turquoise water and white sand beaches make for a relaxing retreat, while the cheap yet delicious street food is an adventure on its own.

Thailand – Australians

Thailand is another destination where the exchange rate favors Australians, where they can afford luxurious lodging, high-quality food, and incredible activities for a fraction of the cost at home. It’s no wonder that Australians would make the trip for the gloriously clear water and epic nature that Thailand has to offer.

Switzerland – Indians

Although Switzerland is a beautiful country complete with majestic snowy Alps and charming architecture, you might wonder why this is a popular destination for Indian travelers. According to some, people from India were inspired to visit this northern European country because many Bollywood movies were filmed there.

Australia shares a language with Ireland yet has a much warmer climate, complete with beautiful beaches, sunshine, and vibrant city life. It’s no surprise that Irish folks might want an escape from the cold, gloomy weather in Ireland to somewhere sunny where they can easily communicate with the locals.
