According to multiple outlets, including Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was injured on September 19, 2025, when a stunt went wrong while filming in Glasgow, Scotland. The story originally broke on The Sun. Holland was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, treated, and released the same day.

Marvel and Sony suspended filming “out of precaution,” but the break is expected to last just a week, with cameras set to roll again on September 29. Executives reportedly met on September 22 to finalize adjustments to the production schedule.

Holland’s father, Dominic Holland, also confirmed at a September 20 charity event that his son would be sidelined “for a while.” Holland attended that event with fiancée Zendaya but reportedly left early after not feeling well.

On social media, Holland hasn’t directly addressed the incident. His most recent Instagram post, a week ago, is captioned “Nothing like a good ol’ game of chess.” Fans quickly filled the comments with concern, leaving messages like “You ok bro????” and “get well soon Spiderman ❤️‍🩹,” while others reassured followers he was expected to make a full recovery.

Filming on the highly anticipated movie kicked off in Glasgow on August 1 and is also slated for locations in London and Pinewood Studios. Despite the brief setback, the July 31, 2026, release date is still on track.
