Before McMansions and smartphones, the true measure of wealth was hiding in plain sight, right inside your suburban split-level.

Someone recently asked online, “What were the signs you were rich in the ’90s?” and the comments hit a nerve for anyone who grew up during the age of slap bracelets and Blockbuster.

For me, it was the sunken living room. I was convinced that dip in the floor meant you’d made it. Now, as an adult, I can’t imagine a bigger trip hazard.

From having the Disney Channel to a trash can that disappeared behind a cabinet, here are the funniest, most painfully relatable answers people gave.

10. The Fridge That Made Ice and Water

If your refrigerator had a built-in ice dispenser, you weren’t just keeping drinks cold; you were living the dream. Bonus points if it actually worked.
