Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially tying the knot.
On August 26, Swift shared several photos on Instagram showing Kelce down on one knee in a flower-filled garden. She kept the caption short and funny: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
One shot shows Kelce slipping a square-oval diamond in a gold bezel setting onto Swift’s finger, while others capture the two hugging, kissing, and celebrating. Swift looked over the moon — and fans around the world wasted no time flooding the comments with congratulations.

It’s been almost exactly two years since Swift and Kelce went public at that Chiefs game in September 2023, though their story goes back to the summer of that year when Kelce famously tried (and failed at first) to give Swift his phone number on a friendship bracelet at her Eras Tour stop. Clearly, the persistence paid off.
The engagement doesn’t come as a total surprise. NFL insiders have been teasing it for months, and back in December 2023, reports surfaced that Kelce had already asked Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, for his blessing. Fans also picked apart blurry photos of Taylor’s hand, gloves hiding her fingers at games, and even an inside joke involving a racehorse named Swift Delivery.
Through all of it, the couple has kept a balance between being the most-watched pair in pop culture and still managing to keep their relationship relatively private. They don’t overshare, but they also don’t hide. As Swift told Time, “We’re just proud of each other.”
Now that Swift and Kelce are headed down the aisle, it’s just another reminder of how much cultural gravity Taylor holds.
