These Are the Nerdiest Cities in America, According to New Data

Nerd culture isn’t hiding in basements anymore…it’s center stage. America’s cities are buzzing with places where fans can gather and proudly show off their passions, from cosplay meetups and gaming conventions to science clubs and board game cafés.

“Over the years, nerd culture has transformed from a niche hobby to a global movement,” says Holger Sindbæk, founder and CEO of Online Solitaire. “With technology, movies, and online gaming growing together, we’re seeing this culture flourish in new ways.”

To find out where nerds gather most, Online Solitaire analyzed America’s 30 most populous cities, measuring three key things: nerdy shops, nerd-related meetups, and search volumes for classic nerd interests. Each city was then given a nerdiness score; a higher number means the city has more shops, events, and online interests dedicated to nerd culture.

Let’s see which cities came out on top!
