Fast food is practically its own food group in the U.S., quick, crave-worthy, and always just a drive-thru away. But which chains are Americans really obsessed with?

A new study by restaurant furniture manufacturer Affordable Seating analyzed regional Google search data from the past 12 months to determine the most searched-for fast-food restaurants in each state. The results are both delicious and a little surprising—especially if you thought burgers would beat pizza.

Here’s how the top contenders stacked up.

6. Papa John’s — 5.4 Million Monthly Searches

Papa John’s might not be the flashiest chain, but it still draws over 5.4 million monthly Google searches, especially in Kentucky, where it takes the top spot. With more than 3,100 locations across the U.S., this delivery-friendly pizza place proves there’s still a loyal fan base out there for extra garlic sauce and pepperoncini.

5. Pizza Hut — 9.1 Million Monthly Searches

Pizza Hut edges out Papa John’s in both search volume and nostalgia. With over 6,800 U.S. restaurants and its signature pan pizza still going strong, it claims Kansas as its #1 fan. It might not be topping charts across the board, but the Hut continues to hold a warm, cheesy place in America’s heart.

Chick-fil-A continues to bring the heat—literally and figuratively. It’s the most searched chain in Southern strongholds like Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. Despite being closed on Sundays, it racks up over 11 million monthly searches, thanks to its fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and almost cult-like following.

With 6,700+ locations and an online ordering system that’s almost too easy not to use, it’s the go-to for a Friday night in. It’s also the top-searched chain in 14 states, including Louisiana, Vermont, and Wyoming. Pepperoni, anyone?
