Labor Day Flights Just Hit 5-Year Lows — Here Are the 10 Best U.S. Destinations

A new report from Dollar Flight Club reveals where you can fly for under $300 this holiday weekend.

Labor Day 2025 is turning into a sweet spot for domestic travelers.

Airfare data from Dollar Flight Club shows U.S. round-trips are averaging 5% lower than last year and a full 17% below 2019 levels. In other words, if you’ve been holding out for one last summer trip without draining your budget, now’s the time to pounce.

Here are the 10 most affordable U.S. destinations for Labor Day weekend, based on recent deals from major airports.

10. Boston – $299

Boston pairs historic cobblestone streets with a buzzing modern food and nightlife scene, making it a perfect long weekend pick. With round-trip flights averaging just under $300, you can explore landmarks like the Freedom Trail or cool off along the harbor without stressing over airfare. If you’re heading there for the first time, here are fun things to do in Boston.

9. Seattle – $298

Nestled between mountains and water, Seattle offers the best of city life with quick access to nature. This Pacific Northwest hub is rarely this affordable over a holiday weekend, so it’s a great time to sip coffee in Pike Place Market or take the ferry out on Puget Sound. If you’re planning to venture further, my Washington State road trip itinerary is a good place to start — especially for beginner hikers looking for a mix of trails and views.

8. Miami – $293

Few cities do holiday weekends like Miami. Between South Beach, Little Havana, and the city’s nonstop nightlife, it’s a lively pick that also happens to be affordable this year. Flights under $300 make it possible to enjoy the sand and scene without blowing the whole budget on airfare.

7. Dallas – $289

Dallas blends classic Texas culture with modern restaurants, arts, and shopping, and the city’s massive airport network is driving fares down. It’s a practical jumping-off point for exploring more of Texas, or you can stay in town for barbecue, live music, and plenty of museums. (Magnolia Market is also an easy day trip from here.) At under $290, it’s one of the best value picks for a last-minute city break.

6. Atlanta – $283

Atlanta is a major hub, which means flights are plentiful and, this year, surprisingly cheap. Visitors can dive into its music history, explore the BeltLine’s outdoor trails, or sample Southern cooking that rivals anywhere in the country. At $283 round-trip, it’s hard to argue with the value.

5. Chicago – $280

From architecture tours along the river to afternoons at Millennium Park, Chicago is a quintessential Labor Day city break. Normally fares climb high for a holiday weekend, but this year it’s sitting at just $280 round-trip. A lakefront stroll and deep-dish pizza never hurt anyone.

4. Denver – $273

Denver is a gateway to the Rockies, and round-trip fares under $275 make it even more appealing for a quick “cool-cation.” Spend a few days enjoying craft breweries, exploring the city’s neighborhoods, and taking day trips into the mountains. If you’re a first-timer, I’ve put together the perfect 3-day Denver itinerary to hit the highlights.

3. Phoenix – $265

Phoenix bakes in late summer heat, but that’s also what makes flights so cheap. Beyond the desert’s stark beauty, the city offers top-tier golf, spas, and a growing food scene. For those who don’t mind a little warmth, it’s an easy budget pick for a quick getaway.

2. Orlando – $258

Orlando’s reputation is built on its theme parks, but you don’t need to step foot in Disney to have a good time. With average fares at $258, it’s one of the cheapest family-friendly cities to fly into for Labor Day. If you’re looking for alternatives, I’ve rounded up 45 amazing things to do in Florida other than Disney.

1. Las Vegas – $244

No city draws Labor Day crowds quite like Vegas, and this year it’s also the cheapest ticket in the country. At $244 round-trip, Sin City tops the list for travelers looking for entertainment, food, and nightlife on a budget. Whether you’re gambling, pool-hopping, or simply people-watching on the Strip, Vegas gives you the most bang for your buck this holiday weekend.
