1. They Film EVERYTHING
A crazy part about being Gen Z is that social media greatly influence their life. They watch the coming trends on their phones and follow the same. A grandma commented, “I can’t stand that they filmed everything.” Yes, life can be enjoyed without filming everything around, but being Gen Z, it’s common to post everything they do on social profiles.
2. “Romanticization” of Their Mental Illness
One of the things some Gen Zers have been seen doing is self-diagnosing their mental illnesses and posting stuff about their related struggles on social media. Most of the time, they also post it’s their routine to cure their mental issue. Some members of older generations say they find it as an excuse for their sh***y behavior. They feel annoyed by the point that Gen Z is focusing too much on their mental state, making it their personality trait.
3. They Do Everything For Aesthetics
Aesthetics have become a part of the life of Gen Z. The older generations seem to think they do everything for aesthetics. Their food, pictures, furniture, house ambiance, everything must be aesthetic (and then, of course, posted to social media).
4. Using Snapchat For Conversation
Another strange thing that Gen Z does is use Snapchat for their conversations. And by conversations, it is actually a “Full Blown Back and Forth Conversation.” They will photograph and use their foreheads or ceilings as snaps for the conversation. It looks quite odd, but it’s their privacy they are taking care of. Pretty much everything will self-delete on Snapchat.
5. Gen Z Never Uses Capital Letters
It’s probably because of text messaging that, over time, texting with capitalized letters became seen as too formal. They intentionally remove capitalization to seem more laid-back and informal. It might be regional or a general “trying hard to appear chill” kind of thing. It looks super annoying to the older generations as if they are reading a giant wall of text without punctuation or capitalization.
6. Incapable of Taking Constructive Criticism
Most Gen Z people have strong opinions and ideas which are quite firm. They have made rules and boundaries to grow and avoid toxicity around them. But the older generation calls it their incapability of taking guidance or constructive criticism. Nobody really loves to be criticized, and Gen Z wants to explore their world on their own. So they shut out people who give them free advice.
7. Taking Therapy as a Green Flag
Gen Z has been known to have an understanding of the importance of mental health, they are more than ready to break the constantly ongoing cycles. Taking therapy can free them. They consider it a plus point and a “green flag” if somebody says they have been taking therapy. But some members of the older generations find it disgusting that Gen Z overshares their issues and dramas and uses therapy for attention seeking.
8. Gen Z Hates Talking Over the Phone
Gen Z hates talking over the phone to anyone. This really annoys the older generations. But why call when you can chat?
9. Pranking
Another thing that most annoys the older generations about Gen Z is that they love pranking. They annoy and bother people just trying to go about their day in the name of “pranking.”
10. TikTok Dances
Since it came, TikTok has become one of the big sources of entertainment. Gen Z has been it’s the user who loves to post stuff on it and, most commonly, dance. Older generations find it quite stupid and are annoyed by these cringe dance moves.
