These 10 U.S. Cities Are Dominating Americans’ Travel Plans in 2025, Study Finds
New data reveals where U.S. travelers are searching for flights, hotels, and quick getaways this year.
Sometimes, you just need a quick escape without dealing with passport lines and international flights.
A new study by RentalReady analyzed millions of Google searches to reveal where Americans are most eager to head for their next city break…and spoiler alert, the entire top 10 is right here in the U.S.
Let’s count down the cities travelers are searching for the most this year.

#10 – Dallas, Texas
With just over 200,000 travel-related searches each month, Dallas is quietly securing its spot as a top U.S. getaway. Between the arts district, historical sites, and some seriously good barbecue, it’s no wonder more Americans are eyeing Dallas for a weekend adventure. (It’s also fun to take a day trip to Magnolia Market!)

#9 – Houston, Texas
Houston edges out Dallas with 214,061 monthly searches. The city’s museum scene, diverse food options, and proximity to NASA’s Johnson Space Center make it a hit for travelers wanting a mix of culture and out-of-this-world experiences (literally).

#8 – New York City, New York
It feels wild to see NYC this far down the list, but here we are. Despite being one of the most iconic cities globally, it ranks eighth for U.S. travelers searching for their next trip. That said, 216,092 searches a month still prove that The Big Apple’s allure hasn’t faded.

#7 – Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta‘s blend of southern charm and big-city buzz earns it the seventh spot, with 216,366 monthly searches. Whether it’s the food, music, or the city’s rich civil rights history, ATL is packing a lot of reasons to visit in a compact, weekend-friendly package.

#6 – Los Angeles, California
LA comes in sixth with 216,825 searches per month. Beaches, Hollywood glam, and all the trendy eats and coffee spots you can imagine—Los Angeles is a solid pick for anyone craving sunshine with a side of celebrity sightings.
#5 – Boston, Massachusetts
Bostonians can brag a little. 243,169 Americans are Googling trips to their city every month. Steeped in history and home to some of the country’s top universities, Boston blends old-world charm with modern-day cool. (And yes, the clam chowder lives up to the hype.)

#4 – Orlando, Florida
No surprise here—Orlando is a family favorite that racks up nearly 300,000 searches a month. Theme parks like Disney and Universal Studios make it a no-brainer for family trips, but even beyond the parks, Orlando has a ton to offer.

#3 – Miami, Florida
With 380,695 searches, Miami locks in the third spot. Think stunning beaches, a nightlife scene that never sleeps, and a vibrant Latin American culture that infuses the city with incredible food, music, and art.

#2 – Chicago, Illinois
Chicago earns the silver medal with over 420,000 searches each month. Between the deep-dish pizza, world-class museums, and skyline views from Millennium Park, the Windy City is a prime pick for travelers looking for a quick but memorable getaway.

#1 – Las Vegas, Nevada
At the top of the list, by a mile, is Las Vegas. Sin City sees an eye-popping 639,321 travel-related searches every month—that’s over 21,000 a day. Whether it’s the casinos, shows, or endless dining options, Vegas remains America’s go-to city break for 2025. Bonus: It’s also the #1 pick in 17 states.
